Jackson’s Steakhouse Opens for Lunch September 12
PENSACOLA, Florida (August 8, 2008) Jackson’s Steakhouse, located in historic downtown Pensacola, will soon become a diners’ daytime destination. Beginning September 12, the award-winning restaurant will now serve lunch Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in addition to its regular dinner service. (Reservations suggested.)
“We’re bringing to the downtown area yet another great place to have lunch,” said Barry Phillips, co-owner and general manager. “We’ll offer our guests the same award-winning food and service they’ve come to expect. Daytime diners can enjoy anything from a quick bite at the bar to a full-service ‘close-the-deal’ lunch with all the amenities.”
“For years, our customers have been asking us to open for lunch,” said Irv Miller, coowner and executive chef. “We decided to seriously look at the opportunity when we joined forces with the Fish House and Atlas Oyster House of the Great Southern Restaurant Group in April.”
“Jackson’s opening for lunch is in keeping with our continuing efforts to elevate downtown Pensacola to a first-class fine dining destination,” said Will Merrill of the Great Southern Restaurant Group. “Chef Miller’s lunch menu creations are spectacular.”
Miller and his culinary team have created an extensive menu including sandwiches starting at $8.50, “cold plates” and salads starting at $8.00, fixed price lunches for $17.00, as well as appetizers and large “hot plates”. Notable dishes include Balsamic Berries and Grilled Seasonal Melons with Citrus Trinity; Roasted Vidalia Onion Soup with Smoked Cheddar-Gruyere Crust; Cast Iron Baked Three-cheese Macaroni; and a Crosshatch Hot Dog with Summer Chowchow. And of course you can always enjoy Jackson’s hand selected, wet-aged steaks from the heartland of America. The Governor’s Room—the restaurant’s private dining room—will be available for private luncheons and special events for up to 50 people.
Jackson’s is located in historic downtown Pensacola just blocks away from its sister restaurants The Fish House and Atlas Oyster House. Jackson’s is owned by Collier, Will, and Burney Merrill, and operated by co-owners Chef Irv Miller and Barry Phillips. The Merrill’s also own the Great Southern Restaurant Group.
